DTP MEDICAL x EMCAS HOSPITAL | Workshop: “Application of WOUND – ALHYDRAN in early scar management after aesthetic plastic surgery”

With the aim of providing the evidence-based solutions of wound care and scar care following aesthetic plastic surgeries, DTP MEDICAL, in collaboration with EMCAS Plastic Surgery Hospital, successfully organized a product presentation seminar on June 15, 2026, entitled: “The application of DerMel Skin Ointment and Alhydran in management of early scar, itching, and redness after aesthetic surgery”.

Floral appreciation was presented by DTP MEDICAL to Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Dinh Tung – Scientific Director at EMCAS Plastic Surgery Hospital

The seminar took place in an open and collaborative atmosphere, featuring the honorable attendance of medical professionals from EMCAS Plastic Surgery Hospital: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tung (Scientific Director), Dr. Pham Xuan Khiem (Hospital Director), Dr. Truong Van Phung (Deputy Director); Dr. Tran Ngoc Phuong Thao (Head of the Department of Aesthetic Surgery), together with more than 15 medical staff.

The presentation indicated one of the most common issues after plastic surgery: how to optimize the healing process, effectively manage scars right from the early stage, and minimize the condition of itching and redness.

To achieve the optimal cosmetic outcome, DTP MEDICAL introduced a wound care and scar management strategy aligned with the physiological healing process:

⏵ Immediately after suturing (open wound phase): Right after skin suturing or invasive aesthetic procedures that leave open wounds, DerMel Skin Ointment with the triple effects: “RAPID HEALING – ANTIBACTERIAL – ANTI-INFLAMMATORY” is applied to support an optimal moist wound-healing environment, facilitate physiological skin repair while reducing the risk of early scar formation.

The combination of wound-healing and skin-supportive ingredients in DerMel Skin Ointment (including medical-grade honey, Arachis Oleum, Cera Alba, Glyceryl Oleate, and Rose Oleum,…) offers a comprehensive approach to wound care and early scar management, particularly for facial wounds. This multi-ingredient formulation differentiates DerMel Skin Ointment from products containing medical-grade honey alone.

⏵ Sutures removal (closed wound phase): Once sutures are removed or the wound is completely closed, ALHYDRAN (MMRC) is applied as a continuation therapy to help regulate transepidermal water loss (TEWL), support scar reduction, relieve itching, redness, and dry skin, and contribute to long-term restoration of skin barrier function.

The presentation also highlighted a random controlled trial conducted at the Burn Center and Department of Plastic Surgery of Ghent University Hospital, comparing ALHYDRAN with silicone gel in scar management. The conclusion is that ALHYDRAN  can provide the same occlusive and hydrating properties as  silicone gels, suggesting that it could eventually replace silicones in scar treatment.

Alongside the sharing from DTP MEDICAL, this meeting also facilitated valuable discussions from the medical team of EMCAS Plastic Surgery Hospital regarding experiences on post-operative wound care and early scar management.

DTP MEDICAL sincerely thanks EMCAS Plastic Surgery Hospital for spending their valuable time to participate in this product presentation seminar. This serves as a great motivation for DTP MEDICAL to continue partnering with  professional hospitals/clinics to deliver the science-based solutions of wound care, scar care and medical aftercare for the skin…
