You usually use BAPSCARCARE silicone gel on visible places (head, neck and hands) .
For scars on ‘moving’ body parts such as joints and in skin folds, use BAPSCARCARE gel or BAPSCARCARE T with extra good adhesive strength.

It takes at least 3 to 6 months for a scar to normalize. Use BAPSCARCARE silicone sheet or silicone gel as long as the scar is raised, red or has symptoms. Consult with the practitioner/doctor about the duration of the silicone therapy.
Unfortunately, you cannot completely remove an (old) scar. It will always remain visible to a greater or lesser extent. Even plastic surgery won’t restore your skin to the “clean” skin you had before the scar. The best result and ideal recovery from a scar is a thin, white, barely visible, stripe on the skin.
Depending on how old your scar is, you can still influence the shape and thickness of the scar. This is only possible when your scar is still active. A scar is usually active for 1 to 1.5 years, but this can also take longer. An active scar is colored red. A scar that is ‘done’ to heal is colored white.
Regardless of how old your scar is, you can always do something about scar complaints such as itching, pulling skin and pain.
The most recommended (non-invasive) scar treatment by professionals is silicone therapy.
Yes, BAPSCARCARE works on both old and new scars.
Note: you can only influence the shape and thickness of the scar when the scar is active. You can recognize an active scar by its red color. Usually a scar is active for 1 to 1.5 years. This may also take longer.
As soon as the scar is no longer active (the scar then has a white color) you can only do something about scar complaints such as itching, pulling skin and pain.
It is not uncommon for some people to have itchy scars when using BAPSCARCARE silicone sheets. Are you bothered by this? Then make sure that you gradually build up the use of silicone sheet or silicone gel to at least 18 hours of wear time per 24 hours. If all goes well, the scar will get used to the therapy and the symptoms of itching will disappear.
