DTP MEDICAL – SEOUL CENTER | Training Seminar on Topic “Theory of Scars & Comprehensive Scar Management Solutions from The Early Stage (Non-Epithelialized Wound) Right after Plastic Surgery”

Aiming for the “Scar-free healing after plastic surgery”, on December 13, 2023, DTP MEDICAL collaborated with Seoul Center International Aesthetic System (Seoul Center) to successfully organize a Training Seminar on topic “Theory of scars & Comprehensive scar management solutions from the early stage right after plastic surgery”.

With valuable sharing from the representative of DTP MEDICAL – Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Duc (Medical Advisor), the Seminar brought Medical Team and the Training Unit of Seoul Center a deeper understanding of scars as well as comprehensive scar management solutions from the early stages right after plastic surgery when the wound has not yet epithelialized until the wound is completely closed with 3 products: WOUND ( accelerating the healing process to minimize the scar formation on non-epithelialized wound), BAPSCARCARE and NOURISIL MD (for scar management after wound closure).

The seminar was started by discussing the fundamental theories of wound healing and scar formation. It is important to note that scar therapy is a continual and thorough process. Scar management should be initiated as early as possible, even wounds have not yet epithelialized. The healing speed, time to healing and wound condition(such as infection and maceration) are important factors that determine the incidence of abnormal scarring.

WOUND, a patented technology from Switzerland, is considered an optimal choice to help simplify wound care, control infection as well as minimize scar formation right after plastic surgery.

The seminar also featured clinical studies that demonstrate WOUND’s efficacy in fostering impressive tissue granulation on both wet and dry wounds, as well as acute and chronic wounds. These are the prominent advantages of WOUND over other products on the market in supporting the treatment of open wounds. Especially for facial cosmetic procedures such as laser treatment, chemical peel,… WOUND will help the skin heal faster, thereby bringing satisfied aesthetic results.

Aside from scarring minimization on non-epithelialized wounds, the doctors is particularly interested in scar management after sutures removal. The silicone -based products have been considered the “gold standard” in preventing and treating the abnormal scars after surgeries.

Nourisil MD, a clinically- proven silicone therapy with a unique combination of 5 types of Silicones and Vitamin E, helps to balance the hydration of the stratum corneum, regulate fibroblast production and prevent collagen overproduction, thereby making scar tissue become softer and flatter.

Nourisil MD is highly appreciated for its quick-drying (in just 60 seconds) and non-sticky gel. The product does not contain fragrances and preservatives, which are suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin and baby skin.

Besides the topical gel, self-adhesive silicone sheets are also one of the silicone therapies that effectively manage abnormal scar formation when combined with compression therapy.

BAPSCARCARE sheet – a clinically- proven silicone therapy developed BAP MEDICAL, helps improve the color as well as texture of abnormal scars. BAPSCARCARE sheets, like topical gel, will balance the hydration of the stratum corneum to limit collagen overproduction, thereby minimizing abnormal scars formation.

BAPSCARCARE sheets include Bapscarcare S (1.2mm) and extra thin Bapscarcare T (0.3mm). Bapscarcare S has different types of sheets with specialized shapes, specifically for C-section, breast augmentation, breast lift, areola reduction surgery, tummy tuck… This is also the prominent advantage of BAPSCARCARE sheets that the medical team of Seoul Center are especially interested in because of its convenience and ease of use.

Additionally, an open discussion about WOUND – NOURISIL MD – BAPSCARCARE aids the team of doctors at the Seoul Center System in developing a deeper understanding of the products knowledge so that they can be applied more effectively for satisfactory cosmetic outcomes.

DTP MEDICAL hopes that this seminar will be a beginning for a larger goal of scar-free healing after plastic surgery that Seoul Center System is aiming for to provide patients with comprehensive scar management alternatives.
