Scars are sensitive to UV rays. At least 1 year after wound closure, a scar has an increased risk of permanent discoloration and skin cancer as a result of these UV rays.
In places where it is difficult to cover your scar (for example your neck, face and hands) it is important to properly protect the damaged skin.
BAPSCARCARE GEL with UV protection (SPF 40) provides optimal treatment and protection of your scar, even when you cannot avoid the sun.
The silicone gel makes scars flatter, softer and smoother, relieves itching and irritation and will reduce the redness of the scar.
Due to the addition of UV protective ingredients, this gel is white in color.

Indications/Areas of application
BAPSCARCARE gel SPF provides combined therapy in the form of both scar treatment and sun protection and can be applied to both old and new scars for:
- The treatment and prevention of abnormal scars (hypertrophic and keloid).
- The treatment of burn scars.
- The treatment of surgical scars.
- The treatment of persistent functional issues caused by the scar (persistent redness, scar pulling, itching, restriction of joint movement, discomfort and cosmetic concerns).
Instructions
- For optimum results, preferably start treatment with BAPSCARCARE gel SPF immediately after wound closure (i.e., after removal of sutures and disappearance of any scabs).
- Clean the skin before use and allow it to dry.
- Apply thinly twice a day, a white layer may remain visible. This can be rubbed in, as required.
- Reapply BAPSCARCARE gel SPF after intensive activity (sports) and contact with water (showering, swimming).
- If desired, BAPSCARCARE gel SPF can be combined with make-up as soon as the gel has dried up.
- When exposed to the sun:
– Apply well in advance
– Reapply regularly (every 2 hours). Especially after swimming, sports and drying the skin
– Avoid the intensive midday sun (between 11:00 and 15:00)
